Gala Salvador Dalí, at the Diagonal metro station
From 6 July to 14 October, the metro will feature an exhibition on Gala by the Museu Nacional
This summer, Gala's Dream, housed in the National Museum, will also be on display in the Barcelona metro.
At the Diagonal metro station you will find more than 30 meters of vinyl posters with reproductions of the exhibition “Gala Salvador Dalí. A Room of One's Own in Púbol”, which takes place at the National Art Museum of Catalonia between 6 July and 14 October.
The intention of this large format installation in the metro is to bring art closer to Barcelona metro users, made possible by a collaboration between TMB with the Museu Nacional and the firm HP.
It is not the first time that TMB has collaborated with the National Museum to bring important works of art to spaces within the metro.
“Gala Salvador Dalí. A Room of One's Own in Púbol”
Gala, world-renowned for being the wife and muse of Dalí, began a collaboration with the painter which led to her sharing the authorship of some works.
The exhibition displays a total of 315 paintings, drawings, photographs and documents related to Gala, including the manuscript sheets of her autobiography project along with, for the first time, an interesting collection of letters, postcards and books, as well as some of her dresses and personal items.
The works are provided by the Gala-Salvador Dalí Foundation and a further eighteen major European and American museums.
When: from 6 July to 14 October.
