Vehicle history:
At the end of the Civil War, Barcelona's tramway network had been badly damaged. The trams that had survived were not in good condition and, during the post-war years of the 1940s, the situation worsened even more. The network, which was not spared from electrical restrictions and lack of spare parts, was insufficient to cope with a number of passengers that was growing with the increasing immigration in the city. To increase the trams' capacity, trailers were built from old vehicles that had become obsolete.
Trailer 1754 is part of a set of seven trailers built to be added to the garden trams 125-133, that since 1906 operated during summers.
