The Barcelona to Caldes de Montbui Classic Bus Rally is the result of the combined efforts of the Sagalés company, the TMB Foundation, Transports de Barcelona and the Association for the Recovery and Conservation of Buses (ARCA), with the aim of highlighting the heritage and history of urban and suburban collective passenger transport using vehicles with tyres.
As the stewards of historical material from three different cultures (public company, private company and voluntary association), which we are committed to preserving, conserving and restoring, we work to ensure the public can access and enjoy vehicles which form part of the history of collective transport and have become part of many people’s lives.
This rally has already made a place for itself in Barcelona as one of the city’s most interesting historical events. Every spring since 2010 classic buses have filled Avinguda de Maria Cristina in Barcelona for an exhibition on a Saturday afternoon, leaving in a procession for Caldes de Montbui on the following day, Sunday. This activity is free and open to all.
