In June 2022, the 150th anniversary of the first tram line in Barcelona was celebrated.
The first tram line was officially opened on 27 June 1872. This animal-drawn tram ran from the Pla de la Boqueria to Gràcia and was managed by The Barcelona Tramways Company Ltd.
This milestone led to the launch of the future ground-level urban transport network.
