Lawyer and keynote speaker Paula Fernández Ochoa, daughter and niece, respectively, of Olympic skiing champions Paco and Blanca Fernández Ochoa, joins journalist Adam Martín for a conversation about the impact of suicide and mental health challenges on those left behind, and about how to rebuild a meaningful and positive life after such experiences.

A consultant and speaker in high-performance environments, Paula Fernández Ochoa combines strategy, leadership and emotion to inspire individuals and organizations to achieve their best selves. She also shares how she turned a difficult experience into an opportunity for personal growth, learning to listen to herself, put things into perspective, and live with greater purpose and awareness.

The event, which will take place on 5 October at 12 pm at Universitat (L1 and L1) station, aims to support those indirectly affected by suicide and raise awareness of this reality.

Photographic technology has evolved steadily since its beginnings in 1826. The first negatives were produced on silver plates (daguerreotypes) or on paper supports (calotypes). In 1851, the first glass negative was created. These negatives were known as collodion plates or wet plates.

Glass negatives improved image quality and simplified the photographic process, as the required exposure time was reduced from 15 minutes to just a few seconds.

The Fundació TMB photographic archive includes an important collection of glass negatives produced between 1877 and 1940. The paper prints developed from these negatives at the time did not do them justice because the printing technology available then could not match the quality captured by the cameras of the early twentieth century.

With the guidance of the Agrupació Fotogràfica de Catalunya and the collaboration of photographer Manuel Daniel Rivera, the glass negative collection was digitized to preserve the images it contains.

The selection of photographs in this exhibition offers visitors the opportunity to enjoy high-quality images of both the public transport systems of the period and the details of the city that serves as their backdrop.

This is the second edition of the exhibition, which was first presented in March 2020.

Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB), through its Foundation, collaborates annually with the prestigious Maria Canals Piano Competition.

In the 2025 edition, the 70th anniversary of the competition was celebrated with an exhibition titled Maria Canals, a competition with soul and the Metro Centenary. Taking advantage of both celebrations, the two entities launched the initiative of placing a piano in the lobby of Line 5 at Diagonal station.

In front of the Espai Mercè Sala, an upright piano was installed, which has been kept there permanently.

On September 18 and 19, a new Barcelona Classic Bus Exhibition will be held, an event organized by TMB, the TMB Foundation, Sagalés, and the Association for the Recovery and Conservation of Buses (ARCA) as part of European Mobility Week.

In this edition, the exhibition mooved to the central part of the Passeig de Gràcia. It will be a unique opportunity to see vehicles representing over 100 years of public transport in Catalonia and enjoy activities for all audiences.

• Friday 18, from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM
• Saturday 19, from 10:00 AM to 7:00 AM 

From the TMB Foundation, the Street Musicians Association (AMUC BCN) is organizing another edition of these aptitude tests, in which around fifty performers and groups will be evaluated to perform at the designated spots in the Barcelona metro network.

The suitability test follows the same methodology as in previous editions: each candidate must perform several pieces chosen at random by the jury from the repertoire they have submitted, consisting of about 20 songs. The jury will assess criteria such as interpretative quality and repertoire variety, the originality and creative richness of the proposal, and cultural, stylistic, and instrumental diversity.

If the jury’s evaluation is favorable, the musician will obtain the AMUC BCN membership card and will be able to participate in the association’s projects, including performances in the metro.
